The latest on voice production

This is a blog for anyone who wants to use their voice more effectively. Whether you are singing, screaming, acting, giving a presentation, talking on the phone or building a rapport with someone face to face!

I studied voice privately with many teachers one on one as well as acting and various modalities of fitness and body work. All roads have lead me here. I continue to explore my voice and support others in the exploration and use of theirs, professionally and as a hobby.

Welcome!

Vocal Exercises

I have found that the old school system of vocal exercises such as various scales and vowels are not as useful as using the material you are actually singing. I use the term singing. loosely. If you can devise a way of learning your material the way you will actually be using your voice that is much more effective than endless scales. You want to be practicing the melodies that you will be singing, using the the words and vowel sounds of that song. I sang exercises for many years and when it comes down to it, no one wants to see you get up on stage and do scales. So practice your material because that's what makes a singer, singing a song!
